As a fractional executive, an FEOD Executive Partner assumes a temporary role in one or more specific functions. In this type of situation ownership provides guidance to the FEOD Executive Partner about whether they are seeking change and/or an upgrade to the business functions or simply “maintenance”.
Certainly, in such a role, the Executive Partner brings the same experience and insight that comes through a consulting arrangement but would initially stay within the bounds of existing company process and procedures unless asked to do otherwise.
Initially, an FEOD fractional executive moves WITH the arc of the company and maintains that function or functions (with an eye towards improvement). This approach could change based on ownership and/or management direction. An FEOD consulting engagement seeks to ELEVATE the arc of the company with specific recommendations.
